CHURCH OF ENGLAND METROPOLITAN TRAINING INSTITUTION (late Highbury College), was instituted 1849, to train pious persons as masters and mistresses of juvenile schools connected with the Established Church, "upon principles Scriptural, Evangelical, and Protestant."
